Hi Kiro.

If you wondered why I unprotected the Main:Talk page, it's because I'm recieving the message "Sorry, the article "Main Page" is not accepting comments at this time." whenever trying to add a comment. Thinking this "could" due to the protection level (highly unlikely, I know, as that should only block unregistered users), I unprotected the page, tried to add a comment, and recieved the same message.

The page has been re-protected to it's previous state.

Don't know why I felt I had to explain myself there, but thought it polite, if you looked and thought "why's he doin that?".

Plus, it's brought the problem to your attention too, if you wanna do some fiddling to fix it :-D hehe

Please delete all this once you've read it ;-)

Stark kicked me for this

Eliminate the No Child Left Behind law. It's pointless and brings down the quality of schools. We've all experienced this; enough has been said.

Make the administration of the death penalty much less costly. Give them one appeal each and simplify the process. Simply kill them by giving them exorbitant amounts of some sort of quick-killing poison or through simple execution by firing squad. Dispose of the body; job's over. As it is, the process is tied up with miles of legislative red tape, and if simplified it would be much more efficient to kill people for horrid or obscene crimes. To those who don't believe in the death penalty, I quote Cloud712:

What about people that kill other prisoners or, on rare occasions, guards in jail? Clearly being in jail for life isn't a deterrent, we obviously won't let them out, and they are also a danger to other people. For people's safety, you have to just put them down.

What about repeat offenders for murder or rape? Clearly being in jail wasn't a deterrent and again, you obviously can't let them go? Is keeping someone alive in jail for 30k+ who contributes nothing to society and endangers innocent people better than spending that 30k+ on a working family that might not be able to make ends meet, building a better inner-city school, or creating new scholarships?

This kind of moral relativism is nice and all in a classroom, but in the real world those are the kind of decisions that need to be made. Why take money from people who are earning it or who might need it and spend it on people who have clearly throw their chance at life, and more importantly other innocent people's lives, away? I don't think we use the death penalty enough in this country.

Eliminate the jury. A person's innocence or lack thereof should not be decided by a panel of randomly picked citizens. In this way, a man's fate is subject to personal bias, whereas trained professionals in the court of law would be less likely to put their own emotions in the way. Additionally, it is quite likely that people of lower intelligence could be picked for jury duty; the consequences are obvious.

Eliminate the electoral system and elect Presidents through the popular vote. It makes no sense to elect a President that does not have the support of the majority of citizens.

Now, onto the most prevalent of issues: sports. Pervasive throughout our society, sports have become a daily part of our everyday life; while we may not participate in them, we at the very least hear about the latest accomplishments of our favorite sports team every day. While I approve of sports in moderation, it has bred a terrible sports-oriented culture that relinquishes its duty of education for the pleasures of physical exertion. In essence, we are turning away from education and towards sports. I point only to the masses of American schoolchildren who pay no attention in class only to find that their dreams of playing a sport professionally were never within reach to begin with.

This particular shift away from education has created a sort of delinquent-like culture within children. There are many now who skip class, pay no attention, disrespect teachers, disrupt school, and use illegal drugs. This pervasive and uncouth behavior has spread to the farthest corners of America, corrupting a surprisingly large number of children. This behavior, if it persists on to college, is then spread even more throughout society and to children. Thus, at a young age, American children are taught to view the law with contempt.

This is the downfall of our society - this physical-oriented sentiment. We should work not towards the acquisition of earthly, physical pleasures - intercourse, alcohol (except wine in moderation), drugs, the sort - and should instead strive for mental and spiritual perfection. We may never reach this perfection, but to squander even one moment of our life upon said earthly pleasures is indeed truly a tragedy. Imagine what we could do if we only wanted to do so!~

The reason he was kicked was because he pasted a WALLOFTEXT in IRC, Stark didn't read it at all. --NightKev (sysop) 01:42, 22 April 2009 (UTC)
